Connelly, Bettany to star in 'Born'
Thesps sign on to psychological thriller

| Jennifer Connelly and Paul Bettany will star in "Born," a psychological thriller that Guillermo del Toro, Lawrence Gordon and Lloyd Levin will produce, and horror vet Clive Barker will exec produce.
Daniel Simpson will direct the project, which revolves around a couple who settle down in a seemingly idyllic English town to raise a family. Their perfect life is shaken when the husband, a claymation artist, discovers his characters are acting out a nightmare that comes to life.
Simpson penned the script with Barker and Paul Kaye.
Stop-motion animated sequences, produced by Chiodo Bros. Prods. ("Elf," "Team America") will be integrated into the pic.
Steve Lanning and Cliff Lanning are producers on "Born," which starts production this Fall in the U.K.
Pic is the first project to be birthed by Los Angeles-based finance and production shingle ClearVision Media Production Group, which is looking to produce independent features and TV shows.
Melissa Wegman is prexy and CEO of the company. Exec roster also includes Sarah Wexler, VP of acquisitions, development and production.
Connelly wrapped "Reservation Road," opposite Joaquin Phoenix and Mark Ruffalo for Focus Features, while Bettany completed "Inkheart," which stars Helen Mirren, Brendan Fraser and Andy Serkis.
Del Toro, Gordon and Levin are in production on "Hellboy II" for Universal. |

Launches Slate of LA Based Finance/Production Company ClearVision Media Production Group
Los Angeles, CA (June 8, 2007) -- On the heels of launching their new entity ClearVision Media Production Group (CVMPG), company president and CEO Melissa Wegman announces that Academy Award winner Jennifer Connelly ( A Beautiful Mind, Little Children, Blood Diamond ) and Paul Bettany ( The Da Vince Code, Master and Commander, A Beautiful Mind ) have signed on to star in the psychological horror movie, Born . The project will be directed by Dan Simpson and is set to start shooting in this Fall in the U.K. Co-written by Simpson & Paul Kaye, the film is produced by Lawrence Gordon ( Predator, Die Hard, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider), Lloyd Levin ( Hellboy and United 93 ), Guillermo del Toro ( Pan's Labyrinth, Hellboy, Blade II) , Steve Lanning, and Cliff Lanning. Born will be executive produced by Clive Barker ( Hellraiser, Candyman ) and Wegman. An animated element of the film is being produced by Chiodo Brothers Productions.
Born is a chilling exploration of a relationship between a couple who thought they had found the perfect place to start a family and pursue their professional dreams. Their idyllic community turns harrowing as they find themselves caught in a terrifying struggle between the past, present and the future.

Born brings the producing team of Gordon and Levin together again with Guillermo del Toro who are all currently in production on Hellboy II.
Connelly recently completed production on Reservation Road , opposite Joaquin Phoenix and Mark Ruffalo that will release in November of 2007 through Focus Features. She is repped by ICM. Bettany recently completed the first installment of Inkheart , opposite Helen Mirren, Brendan Fraser and Andy Serkis. He is repped by ICM, Melanie Greene Management and Troika.
ClearVision MPG's current slate includes over thirty motion picture, broadcast network production and television series projects. The company, which is based in Hollywood, is focused on financing and producing independent feature film projects as well as varied filmed entertainment properties for both theatrical and television delivery. Born is the company's first feature to be produced and they are in pre-production on the Sci-Fi Channel film, Red Tide Rising. Headed by Melissa Wegman, the company's executive team also includes Sarah Wexler, VP of acquisitions, development, and production.
